Unfinished (raw) brass, which will darken with time and use. Brass doesn't respond well to water left to dry on its own or to chemicals like hair spray or perfume but can be buffed again to a bright shine with a polishing cloth or simple soap and water. Brass can be restored to its original color with the use of a commercial brass cleaner.
Gold filled components contain 100 times more real gold than gold plated components and are very durable and tarnish resistant. Gold filled jewelry can be worn by people with sensitive skin.
