I just fell in love with these wonderful Halloween-themed lampwork beads. The beads have the cutest kitty just sitting on a pumpkin wearing a cute bow tie ready for the Meowloween (Halloween)party, how about you? Notice the cute kitty's tail wrapped around the pumpkin in the colors lime green and black. The orange button nose and those lime green eyes are so cute. The lampwork beads were designed by Carolynsbeads. Too bad the pumpkin isn't opened for this kitty to hide. I accented the lampwork beads by adding Swarovski jet black beads, Czech crystal Lucerna milky lime, and Czech lime rondel beads. Sterling silver rondel beads along with silver plated bead caps were added to complete these black cat pumpkin earrings. These cute Halloween earrings dangle from sterling silver lever back ear wires.
Among superstitions, one of the oldest and most enduring is that crossing paths with a black cat will bring on bad luck. The dark-colored felines have also been folded into modern Halloween symbols, giving them the (unearned) reputation of being spooky.
Why is the Black Cat a symbol of Halloween?
Black and night have long been symbols of evil due to the fears of our ancestors. Many of the old Pagan religions also associated the black cat with witchcraft and evil. This carried through into Medieval times, where witches were said to take the form of a black cat at their will.
